What kinda car and what does it plug into...I have some mk1 and 3 wiring around.

it is a '90 Corrado. it plugs into the bottom of the stalks and then to the H1 spot on the fusebox. If you have some b3 or b4 passat parts around, those will work.

found one on vortex for $25 and hopefully grabbing the vr6 stalks tonight. I would love to find a pin removal tool because I tried with all kinds of objects to pull the pins and slap in another wire with no success.

I have one I got from Snap-On. Maybe Harbor Freight would have something like that.

I've pulled hundreds of electrical pins from VW harnesses using a tool that a VW tech showed me how to make. Take the SS strip from a wiper blade and grind it so its a little more narrow and then put a dull chisel point on it.

Works great and its free. I like to use it with a pair of needle nose visegrips.
