ALL CARS ARE SHITBOXES
Show me one with parts that are durable and reliable; one that is made to be serviced, not just assembled once; one with a quality interior (cloth
seats, headliner that lasts 30 years, etc); one whos parts only change because they actually improved; one that doesn't need zillions of special tools
or dealer-only parts that won't even be available in 20 years; one that doesn't need a dealer code scanner; one that doesn't have federally mandated
safety features (airbags everywhere, tire pressure monitoring, backup cameras which are coming, stability control; start-stop; interference design;
compact spare; blind spot warnings; and the devil's own creation--reverse lights that fricking come on when you unlock the car. Oh, and give me
something that can actually tow 2000 pounds and is only two wheel drive.

Mazda B-Series (See Ford Ranger (North America) for the North American version sold from 1994.)
Mazda's partnership with Ford has resulted in the sharing of this vehicle as the Ford Courier, and later as the Ford Ranger. However, it
should be borne in mind that the Mazda B-Series and Ford Ranger twins sold in North America are unrelated to the ones sold elsewhere. These are
engineered by Mazda, whereas the North American models are developed by Ford.
Mazda B-Series
The North American 1994 Proceed/B-Series was new, the design having been merged with the Ford Ranger. Mazda continued to manufacture its own trucks in
Japan and elsewhere, but for the North American market, the design was shared, as were the engines.

So Mazda switched to a crappy Ford to avoid the 25% tariff on imported light trucks and it was such a failure, they stopped selling them a few years
later.
That tariff by the way is the whole reason we don't have more awesome buses and other Type 2s running around!!!!!!!!
We've been suffering from 48 years of this bullshit...no wonder I can't buy a decent small truck.
Never knew about some of the abominations related to this legislation...like the reason for the seats in the bed of the Brat...or the fact that ALL
Transit Connects are shipped with rear glass and seats which are removed in Baltimore...or the Sprinter make it | break it | make it again
two-step...or why the Mahindra never came here ready-to-drive

Suddenly, I wish I had international friends in the shipping industry and I'd be interested in a Mahindra Thar

Welcome to America, where if it moves (our even if it doesn't), we'll tax, litigate, and regulate the bitch right through the headboard.
Tariffs and trade regulation killed more than just the bus. Isolationist economic policies are a hallmark of burgeoning collectivist movements. Open
the global market. Liberate the free trade economy. Cut this tit for tat shit. Enjoy capitalism. Produce and consume.

Really? I got one when I requested a Yaris. It didn't have cruise control, the AC turned off when going over 70, and it was shakey at interstate
speeds. My '88 VW even has cruise control and it's was the base model.

Could have just been a rental that was rode hard and hung up wet before you got it. The one I had when I rented had really low mileage (under 10k,
which was shocking for a rental). I think mine had cruise, not sure.
You also have to remember what it is, and what it is NOT - they were designed to be city cars, so things like cruise control are not going to be
standard, and they're not designed to handle like a finely engineered sportscar at top highway speeds.
They do what they were designed to do very well, but that's all they do
