"Cars will
go on track against the clock at 20-second start intervals. "

I might not be able to do that then.

I'd get lapped.

Well I guess the links aren't working correctly on here. You can get to the event info page from the main page on http://www.get-fast.net, or by clicking on the event flyer pictured above at http://www.nasaracing.net/autox.htm

Have you done these before? This is a "no novices" event...

Thanks,

Jon

Damn outta the country until now... the 6th falls on a bad day for me (sister's flying back up here for her baby shower) but I'll give her a call today and see the details and whether or not I have to attend.

There's also a fun kickball the following day..

Keep in mind you don't need to be at VIR all day, you can do the morning or afternoon heat:

9:00AM CircuitCross Registration & Tech Open
10:30AM CircuitCross Drivers Meeting
11:30AM - 12:30PM CircuitCross Heat 1

2:00PM CircuitCross Registration & Tech Open
3:30PM CircuitCross Drivers Meeting
4:30PM - 5:30PM CircuitCross Heat 2

Hope to see ya there,

Jon

Told my work I couldnt work the Nascar race (work = smooze & drink/eat free in the suite) so I'm already 50% committed.

Sweeet. I love watching/hearing your car in action.

There are somewhere between 7 and 10 spots remaining at this moment, depending upon what part of the registration process you consider "official."

Gotta go see if my freshly-cleaned MAF made any butt-dyno difference before it rains,

Jon

Glad you enjoy it as much as I do. I really need some video of me from the outside because I just don't get to understand how brutal it sounds other than underpasses and hanging out the window..

you should do a drifto video after it rains I hear we should be getting some decent amounts (if someone has a nice lot I'd be willing to show up with camera and car  )

Toss me the keys next time, I'll be glad to see how it sounds while you watch.

Gawd, my car in the rain with the new swaybars/tiebars and the traction control off... would definitely be "dorifto" :D

I would but I heard VIR autocross no longer favors Volvo 850s ;)

LOL, that incident was 100% driver error... neither VIR nor NASA have any problem with Volvo 850's in general ;)

Mike, you missed a lot of runs and some good Evo/STi competition... see results:

http://www.get-fast.net/nasacross/5606

Then we went karting afterward on VIR's 5/8 mile roadcourse, it was a blast too

Good times,

Jon

Aw damn -- sounds like it was a blast and actually was talking to a buddy of mine about going carting out there. I spent the day with my family and went out to lynchburg for sis' baby shower (next time).

Awesome turnout especially with the AWD vehicles... where's the pics?

Not many pics yet, hopefully soon.

Sat Jul 29 in the early evening we'll kart there again (during our HPDE/roadrace weekend on the north course.) Maybe an enduro... cheap fast fun.

See ya,

Jon

Was it good that I won my class even though I was the only one in TTE? I am surprised about finishing ahead of a Lotus Elise, though.

Heh, I hope so. It was really great to meet Vaughn Gitten, Jr, too. He really was a nice guy and it was fun racing him (well, I was drifting) in the karts. Hope he comes to another one of our events and does some grip driving instead. What ever happened to the Time Trials to beat him and other drifters?
